In the Roman Imperial period Acalissus, Idebessus and Cormi were united in a sympolity with Acalissus at the head. The first two with their termination in ssus go back to before the Greeks came to Lycia. However whilst they are auguably from antiquity there are no rock tombs or inscriptions to be found. Acalissus did strike coins under Gordion 111.
Acalissus lies lower down to the east of Idebessus at an uninhabited sport called either Gavuristanlik or Asarderesi. Apart from an assortment of walls, the relics of two churches and some thirty sarcophagi.
I have not been able to visit this site but hope to in the near future when I will be able to publish some pictorial evidence for it’s existence.
