Not a lot remains of the city of Boubon after the villagers dug through the site from top to bottom. However George Bean did manage to trace an inscription on which the Emperor Commodus praised the efforts of the city in suppressing bandits and confirmed them having three votes in the Lycian League, on par with Xanthus!
A rock cut tomb outside the village is quiet impressive.

There are other tombs around the village in various states of disrepair.

In inscriptions found at the site there are references to war against other cities in the League at various times, notably against Araxa. Also Diodorus has a tale of a distinguished Bubonian general who made himself a tyrant, was then murdered by his brother who wanted the power and was himself killed by the children of the tyrant.
