Bilkent University Department of Archaeology have been since 1994 excavating this site at various times.
Hacimusalar is a mound rising out of the plain some 20kms south of Elmali.

Excavations have traced the site from Neolithic occupation to late Roman/Byzantine period. Epigraphic evidence suggests that it is the site of the ancient city of Choma.
Excavations show that at the summit there was a large building of Late Roman date with indications that it continued into the Christian era.
