Letoon was a religious site near the village of Kumluova. It is signposted and has ongoing excavation work by a French team. It is well known as the sanctuary of Leto who was, in some sources loved by Zeus and was hated by his wife Hera who persecuted her to wander from place to place.
The excavators are at present trying to rebuild one of the temples and where the pillar drums are missing making replicas. There should be evidence of a settlement nearby but little remains.

The theatre but why? This site was a religious place and not for shows, perhaps an earlier Billy Graham preached here!

The entrance to the theatre.

Images over the entrance to the theatre.

A tomb next to the theatre, perhaps of a former performer relaxing with a cup of wine.

The water level is so high that parts of the site are under water making excavation rather difficult.
